Wantagh changed from farmland to suburb mostly between the 1950s and 1970s, so its streets are lined with Cape Cods, ranches and high ranches, many since raised or expanded. South of Merrick Road, canal-front homes sit only a few feet above the bay, and Hurricane Sandy flooded parts of that waterfront in 2012. The ground here is flat outwash plain with a high water table, which means roof water that lands at the foundation has little room to soak away. Nor'easters drive rain sideways off the bay. For homes like these, seamless gutters sized for the roof and a way to carry water well away from the house matter.
Known as the Gateway to Jones Beach, Wantagh is a Town of Hempstead hamlet that went by the name Jerusalem before its current name was adopted. The Wantagh State Parkway, whose first section opened in 1929 as the Jones Beach Causeway, runs south through the hamlet to Jones Beach State Park. Merrick Road and Sunrise Highway carry east-west traffic, and the LIRR Babylon Branch stops at Wantagh station. On the bay side sits Wantagh Park, while Twin Lakes Preserve and Mill Pond add natural green space. From canal-front homes south of Merrick Road to the Capes and high ranches on inland streets, we install and service seamless gutters throughout Wantagh.
Hand-dug drainage is a key service for Wantagh's flat, low-lying lots and canal homes, where a high water table leaves little room for water to soak in; digging by hand protects lawns, pavers and irrigation. We recommend 6" K-style or 6" half-round seamless gutters for homes exposed to bay winds, and Alcoa aluminum holds up well near salt water. Raised and expanded homes often need new gutters sized to the larger roof.

Many raised homes end up with gutters and leaders that no longer fit, or water that now drops a long way onto walkways and foundation plantings. We fabricate seamless gutters on site to match the new rooflines and can route leaders into underground drainage. A free estimate lets us review the whole system.
It can help, but the design matters. We look at your lot, soil and leader locations before choosing leach basins or extension tails. All digging is done by hand, which protects lawns, pavers and sprinklers. We have installed more than 1,000 underground drainage systems across Long Island.
Aluminum and copper both resist rust in salt air, and our standard product is seamless Alcoa aluminum. For homes that take wind-driven rain off the bay, 6-inch K-style or 6-inch half-round gutters with larger leaders move water off the roof faster. Our gutter installations carry a 25-year warranty on materials and labor.
Yes. Leaking gutters often rot the fascia boards on older Capes and ranches. We replace damaged fascia, can cap it with aluminum trim coil for lower maintenance, and install vented vinyl soffit where needed. New seamless gutters then go up on solid wood so they stay secure.
